The Barfi is made utilizing ghee, liquid glucose, milk, alum & sugar, which is a mouth watering recipe of dessert which you could make for your beloved ones on the festivals and special events and occasions. Ingredients for Dodha Barfi:

  • mixed dry fruits-1/2 cup
  • ghee-4 tablespoon
  • sugar-300 gm
  • water-8 tablespoon
  • milk-4 litre
  • alum-1/4 tsp
  • glucose-4 tablespoon
How to prepare Dodha Barfi:

Step 1) To make the yummy sweet dish, slice the dry fruits in a vessel. Now, place a deep bottomed vessel on high flame & drop milk in it. Take it for the boiling & now drop sugar with the alum in boiled milk. Reduce the flame & allow the milk simmer until it becomes half the amount & the milk starts to thicken.

Step 2) When the milk is lowered to half the amount, include the glucose & stir it finely. Now, drop ghee in milk & cook for other ten to fifteen mins. You would see that ghee would begin leaving the sides.

Step 3) Then, the mixture would be grainy & dark in colour. Next, pour water in it & stir once again, allow the mixture to cook for 2 more mins. Meantime, bring a metal tray & grease it with the ghee.

Step 4) Turn off burner & place the grainy mixture over the tray, you could utilise a spatula to evenly place the mixture. Top up the mixture with sliced dry fruits & put it beside for 5-6 hrs in fridge & wrap it with cling film to avoid any smell in it. Take out once done & cut into desired shapes, have it instantly.
