In the olden days, people were much healthier because there were hardly any couch potatoes due to lack of advancements in technology like televisions, laptops, etc in that period. Through meditation therapy, the modern day issues like depression, anxiety and blood pressure can be cured. This is because these conditions of a human body are mainly affected by an ill mind.

Types of Therapy for Meditation

The most common form of rehabilitation of mind and body through this kind of therapy is Sound Meditation. Any form of soothing music is what is utilized in this case to bring the mind into focus of leaving all tensions behind and relaxing henceforth. Zen Meditation is derived from Buddhism and involves communication with a practicing teacher along with observation of one’s breath and mind to gain awareness of enlightenment.

The kind in which breathing is not the focus point rather a mantra in Sanskrit is what drives the therapy is called Transcendental Meditation. It is more of a spiritual way of healing one’s self. One of the most commonly used treatment methods by psychologists to explore the history of a person’s life to dig out solutions for a current problem is by taking the person on a hypnotic journey.

Reflective Meditation is a variation of the above mentioned modern day cure. By conducting this type of therapy for meditation, the practitioner is made to concentrate on a particular object or on various life changing questions which can help the person in finding solutions to existing problems like depression and anxiety.
